On
1/8/11, VonAmp appeared in a radio interview on Z95.5
FM - THE
BONE (part of the River
Radio Group - Poplar Bluff, MO). D.J. Chris
Berger was awesome - he definitely has a
bad-ass radio voice!!! Chris is
one of the most talented DJ's that we've ever met and he made
our time at the station a lot of fun. Very cool!
Z95.5
FM - THE
BONE plays music from the 70's until now and its format
is solid rock (from Alice in Chains to ZZ
Top). If you live in Missouri, see the
River Radio Group's Classified
Ads.

VonAmp
performed at the historic Webster
Hall in the East Village of New York City
on October 9th, 2010. We do have video
from our performances (recorded with a camcorder), but
we will soon have pro-video and audio of our show. The
entire trip was awe inspiring, but especially meaningful since
VonAmp's concert performance fell upon the birthday of John
Lennon - the late, legendary member of The Beatles and a New
Yorker himself. During the show, Discovery
Kids® and
a couple of music executives came out to check out VonAmp,
and other ultra talented bands performing at the venue, and
told Mr. Salottolo that they thought VonAmp had HUGE potential
in the music industry. We're sure they were equally impressed
by the other performers as well. Read about the other
talented acts on
this page....
The
members of VonAmp had a great time since we were finally able
to meet alot of the East
Coast performers that we've been admiring (and messaging)
on YouTube. Mr. Salottolo, founder of the Youth Arts
Forum, was extremely gracious and kind. When we stepped
up to do our sound check and threw in a song, he smiled big
and said, "You sound EXACTLY how I knew you would!" After
VonAmp performed its segment of the show, Mr. Salottolo asked
the band if they would be interested in being one of the headliners
in his East Coast touring circuit. (Mr. Salottolo
appears with VonAmp in the lower-right corner of our photo
montage above.)
The
concert was held in the portion of Webster Hall called The
Studio which carries on the legacy of the 1950s and 60s
when Webster Hall became the live recording home of RCA Records,
and where legends such as Elvis Presley, Sam Cooke, Ray Charles
and Bob Dylan made rock and roll history.
We
want to thank Thomas (see pic
below right) for his hospitality at Webster Hall. We
were all convinced that Thomas had to be a rock star, but for
sure he's a star in his own right. He came to the U.S.
all the way from the U.K. and we were honored to spend the
day with him.
A
couple of hours before our
show, we found a great restaurant around the corner, New
Amici - their italian cuisine is excellent!!!! See
pic below on left. They had the biggest slices of pizza
that we'd ever seen and it was the authentic Italian food that
you dream of eating in New York City (and it's just around
the corner from Webster Hall.) VonAmp also visited the
area known as Ground Zero - see more
info.

Webster
Hall is a 40,000 square ft. landmark nightclub/entertainment
venue located in the heart of the historic East Village. With
professional bartenders, NYC's hottest DJ's, six separate lounges,
the most advanced lighting system in North America, and the
best stage in New York City.
The
concert was organized by Barry Salottolo, founder of the Youth
Arts Forum of New York City. Several acts performed
and the event raised money for feeding children of the city. YAF
Founder, Barry Salottolo, has submitted a formal Letter
of Recommendation to VonAmp regarding the invitation to
play at this fine event.
VonAmp
was named Artist
of the Month (June 2010) by the Youth Arts Forum in New
York City. See the featured article on the YAF web site
by following the Artist of the Month link above. After
our concert was complete, L.A.
Guns went
on stage for the later show -
their amazing drummer hails from the band Guns & Roses.
